My Teacher

shri gurubhyo namaha…

Awaiting her arrival, I restlessly sat

Like parched land waiting for the first drop

Deep in prayer pleading for the boon

Blessed in abundance; the sun shone upon us

Immersed in laughter time just flew

So much so that the class concluded fast

Though seeming like a mind blowing carnival

Most disciplined was our gain of knowledge

Though at home, her family yearns for her return

Her other family comes here only for her

Such is her love for both her families

Yes this person – the revered sun is my teacher

  1. Great insight.
Understanding that a teacher has 2 families and not one shows how good a poet Sahana is.
And waiting like a parched land is a master stroke.
    Keep writing Sahana.

  2. Awesome poem, Sahana 👏👏👌⭐️

Your language perfectly reflects the emotions and the poem expresses the wonderful bond a student shares with the teacher.

Not many young poets of your age, who write about their teacher, can think and connect to the teacher’s personal life. Nice poem..Well written👌

    Keep writing ✍️
Best wishes and Good luck 👍
